After you find a local veteran (or more!), consider creating a chapter in your town.

Step 3

On November 10th “Veterans Day Eve”

  • Select a meeting place on November 10th or  “Ninja Night”. (For the first five years, the event was held at our house and then we moved to our local fire department for more space.)

  • Invite highly motivated kids with advanced ninja skills to the event for a pizza and poster decorating party!

  • The CNO (Chief Ninja Officer) will assign veteran(s) to each family.

  • Download Mission form

Step 4

Learn From Our Veterans

In addition to the “Thank you for your service” poster, leave a Veteran Questionnaire with a stamped envelope to be mailed back to the organizer’s address.

Step 5

Veterans Day Eve “ghosting”!!!!

Ninjas place the posters on their veteran’s door, leave a bag of Halloween candy and sprint back to their family’s getaway car!!  If you get caught by the veteran, ninjas have to do (10) push ups on the front lawn!

Step 6

Have an Impact

Over the next couple of weeks, you will hopefully receive the questionnaires from your veterans!!! These special documents will help teach the kids (or ninjas) about each veteran’s experience in the military and will allow them to learn about who they are thanking for the following year.

The following year, ninjas and their families will be receive a veteran’s folder while decorating their poster so they can learn about their veteran and it will help them customize their poster.

Step 7

Rest, Relax and Repeat

A veteran just woke up to a “Thank you for your service” poster on their front door and it brings a little joy to their Veterans Day! As word spreads, hopefully more veterans names will be passed along to you. Update the master list, relax for a few months and let the planning start all over again!!
